How do I install the Conversion System Mounting Plates on my chain link fence?Updated 6 months ago

The mounting plates used for the Existing Fence Conversion Systems are designed to accommodate a wide range of fastener types. The most common way the plate is secured to a chain link fence post is with U-bolts. On the sides of the mounting plate are two slots that are compatible with U-bolts.

The U-bolt will wrap around the chain link fence post, with the "prongs" going through the slots on the plate. Then, a washer and nuts are secured to each prong to tighten the U-bolt and set the plate in place on the post. The mounting plate can accommodate U-bolts for posts as large as 2.5" in diameter.

If the "prongs" are too long, then you may cut off the excess bolt material (as seen above) using a hacksaw or bolt cutters.

The Existing Fence Conversion System uses 2 U-bolts through the plate, as seen above. The Conversion System for Shorter Fences requires 2 mounting plates per spring-loaded extension arm. When mounting the plates for this system, you can use one U-bolt in each plate, as seen below.
