Do you need to take the fence down in the winter?Updated 6 months ago
It is not necessary to take the fence down during the winter. In the 20+ years that we have been providing our cat-fencing systems, snow damage has been exceedingly rare. We have thousands of installations across the US in areas that receive heavy snow (Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, for example), as well as several systems throughout Canada.
The 1.7" x 1.7" grid pattern of our mesh material typically allows snow to easily pass through the fence. However, in rare instances (which have actually seemingly become more common in recent years, unfortunately) where the snow is heavy, "wet", and falling quickly, it may begin to accumulate on the fence. When this does occur, we recommend brushing off or shaking off the snow to prevent excessive weight on the system. We understand that this may not always be possible, which is why we offer a weather damage warranty discount on replacement parts for damage caused by a natural event for the life of your system.
There are also some upgrades that we can offer to increase the strength and durability of the Purrfect Fence in areas that receive heavy snowfall, depending on the system you require. Please contact us today for more information!
